Used to record the stated, underlying event or cause behind a requested status change. In
other words, when known, this provides a "event behind the reason." For example, a
ProducerAgreement may become "Terminated" because the Agent Resigned. In this
situation, the "reason" for the ProducerAgreement status would be recorded as"Resigned;" and for most purposes, that is sufficient. However, the Carrier may wish
to track that it knows the Producer Resigned because they were moving. Note the qualification
here. The Producer "Resigned" because they were moving. Thus, "Due to
Move" is not the reason for the status of "Terminated" and it would be
incorrect to record it as such. Instead, "Due to Move" would be the event or cause
that lead to the decision to resign. |
