When set to TRUE, this indicator is used to denote that the participant's portion of the parent coverage is considered an "add-on" rider or base increase coverage. For example, a TRUE value is used to denote that the rider coverage is considered an "add-on" to the base whenever the relationship between the primary insured and the coverage insured is "self." For other relationships, it may not be considered an add-on to the base coverage and the indicator would be set to FALSE.To determine if a related coverage is "add-on" coverage, the associated coverage is identified via RelatedParticipantProductInfo on ParticipantProduct. The BaseAddOnInd property then identifies whether or not the related participant's coverage amount should be considered part of the "base plus add on calculation" for the related coverage, based on the role being specified in RelationshipInfo. |
