| This object contains the properties that delineate the characteristics for a single benefit, rider, provision, election, etc. found on a life insurance policy. The collection of coverage objects represents all the individual components included in the policy and defines or limits the obligations under that contract. There must be one and only one Coverage which defines the base characteristics of the underlying policy. This special Coverage should have its IndicatorCode property set to type "Base".This object contains the properties that pertain to a specific coverage or rider within a policy. The base coverage information for this policy is represented using this object as well. A collection of coverage objects represents all the coverages or riders for a particular life insurance policy.When a coverage ends, all of its children/subordinate objects end as well (e.g. CovOption, LifeParticipant). The Coverage object is unique to life products, while annuities, and disability lines of business use the Rider object to model various components of a policy. Coverages do not include financial arrangements such as periodic deposits, withdrawals or dividends which are modeled as "Arrangements", or loans which are modeled as "Loans". |
